My Memoirs: Life’s Journey Through WWII and Various Historical Events of the 21st Century

Hunczak reflects on his youth growing up in Europe during WWII in this revealing memoir. Having witnessed prisoner of war camps and displaced persons camps, Hunczak tells unique and personal stories of tragedies and developments with a focus on the importance of friends and family.

Taras Hunczak received B.S and M.A. from Fordham University and Ph.D. from the University of Vienna. Stating in 1960 he taught history at Rutgers University and offered semester courses in Ukrainian history at Columbia University and at the University of Pennsylvania. As a Fulbright Scholar he taught history in Ukraine at the Kyiv Shevchenko University and at the Kyiv Polytechnical Institute. He has also given seminar lectures at the London School of Economics and at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. At the same time he authored and edited numerous historical books.
