Candy J. Cooper is a Pulitzer Prize finalist and winner of the Selden Ring Award for Investigative Reporting. She has been a staff writer for four newspapers, including The Detroit Free Press and The San Francisco Examiner. Her work has appeared in the The New York Times, The Columbia Journalism Review and The Chronicle of Higher Education, among other publications. She has also written several classroom series books published by Scholastic.
Marc Aronson is the author or editor of a number of nonfiction books for young adult audiences, including last year’s award-winning Eyes of the World: Robert Capa, Gerda Taro, and the Invention of Modern Photojournalism and the forthcoming 1968: Today’s Authors Explore a Year of Rebellion, Revolution, and Change. Aronson is a passionate advocate of nonfiction for children and teenagers. He was awarded the very first Robert Sibert medal for excellence in nonfiction and edited the tenth book to win the award. His co-authored books have been adopted into state curricula and ranked among the top 100 Amazon best sellers. While teaching in the library school at Rutgers, he is also working with two New York City museums to create events and programs from 2018-2020 that are likely to draw media attention to his wide-ranging work.
